Some Tips from Our HVAC Company
The warm days of spring have officially begun, which means summer isn’t too far behind. So before it gets too hot, our air conditioning service experts recommend you turn on your HVAC unit for a few hours to make sure everything is operating like it should.
Change your filter
Your current HVAC filter has collected all of the dust and dirt of winter, so before you switch to air conditioning, get a new filter. You’ll not only breathe cleaner air, but your HVAC unit won’t have to work as hard to pump cold air through your home.
Check your outdoor unit
Before you turn your air conditioning on, inspect your outdoor unit and make sure there’s no debris (such as leaves, twigs, sticks, grass, etc.) obstructing its parts or blocking its flow of air. If you’re going to open the unit, just make sure the power is disconnected.
The average lifespan of an HVAC unit is 12-15 years, so if yours is older than that, you may want to consider getting a new one before the hot months hit. Call an air conditioning service expert at Timothy Off – we can help you decide on a new one and get it installed quickly.
Check your coolant lines
Take a good look at your air conditioner’s coolant lines and make sure that aren’t damaged, crimped, or leaking. They should also be covered with solid insulation. If you find anything wrong with your coolant lines, contact our experts so we can fix or replace them.
The easiest way to know if your air conditioner is in top shape and ready for the hot days of summer is to call one of us! We can come out to your home and inspect your unit to make sure everything is running smoothly.
